I hereby salute all of the representatives of our sector as the chairman of the fifth term of Association of Turkish Furniture Manufacturers that is the roof organization of Turkish furniture sector.
Being one of the leading developing powers of Turkish economy, our furniture industry continues its growth against the economic depression both in the world and in our country. Our industrialists have made more than 170 countries acknowledge their own furniture and brands. Effectuating a growth by 8%, realizing exportation two times more than importation and creating the possibility of high employment, furniture industry features a distinct importance among various industry branches with its differences that provide a privilege to the sector. As a result of the intense awareness raising studies of MOSDER; innovative and modern management concept of the sector such as design, branding and institutionalization have been adopted and thus the investments that include these concepts have been increasing gradually.
I would like to thank all of my colleagues that have contributed in these praises of our sector.
In the new term, the events such as Design Competition of MOSDER and Istanbul Furniture Fair (İMOB) shall continue and new dimensions shall be brought to relations with the European Furniture Industrialists Confederation (EFIC) and moreover our cooperation with DEIK and new market researches shall be sustained. We shall not also interrupt keeping in touch with the sector and represent our problems in official seats. Our cooperation with the universities and sister professional organizations shall also go on intensely.
We wish that all of our shareholders from retailers to sub-industrialists, from workers to consumers regard Association of Turkish Furniture Manufacturers a source of reference. You can contact us on every subject that you would like to consult regarding our sector.
